CHC Newsletter: Bible Study Workshop Tonight

Apr 8, 2026

Save the Date

Jesus Night – April 22nd

The Fellowship Hall is open at 6:00 pm for Church Family Dinner and/or to hang out. Jesus Night starts at 7:00 pm. If we want more people to interact with Jesus Christ we should be involved. Please pray and ask the Holy Spirit to help you identify who you should share Jesus with. Think about it and jot down some ideas. Pray about it more. Our monthly “Jesus Nights” give an opportunity to invite people who would be interested in hearing you share your Jesus-story. Our other upcoming Jesus Night is May 27.

Pentecost Sunday – May 24th at Pier Six Pavilion

This year at least 10 churches will be gathering for Pentecost Sunday at Pier Six Pavilion. Childcare will be provided! We’re looking for singers to join the Pentecost Sunday choir. The next planning meeting is on Tuesday, April 21 1:30pm (29 S Front St).

Choir Rehearsal – May 17 at 3pm (29 S Front St)
Choir Rehearsal and Final walk through – May 23 at 9am

Sharing Life Together

Pastor’s Weekly

Rebecca and I were thrilled to enjoy being with each of you and the people you invited to our Good Friday and Easter services! Thank you all for the time and energy you gave to our shared celebration of Jesus Christ. Please continue to pray for those you have invited whether they attend or not. God the Holy Spirit continues to speak to each of us and each of them. Over the past month there are people who received Jesus and people who received healing. Please let us know if you would like to share an answer to prayer.

Sharing Jesus

Are you ready to share the most valuable thing in your life with your neighbors, coworkers, and friends? Parents, your children have classmates whose families need to know what you care about most. Jesus Christ our Savior King is the most valuable relationship we have. Studies show that on certain dates people are more inclined to investigate Christianity. Please pray about this! Please invite people to hear Jesus stories and/or to one of our services.

This Week

Bible Study Workshop Tonight

The Fellowship Hall is open at 6:00 pm for Church Family Dinner and/or to hang out before small groups and CHC Youth start at 7:00 pm. If we all work together to clean up after dinner at 6:50 pm, there may be no need for it after our gathering.

Let’s learn more about how to study a specific word in its original Biblical language – using “freedom” from Galatians 5:1 as our focus for April 8 & 15. See detailed notes below.

CHC Youth Night Tonight

CHC Youth meet every Wednesday night at 7:00 pm at the church for a time of fellowship, worship, and Bible study.

Sunday Church Service

We are looking forward to our Sunday church service this Sunday, April 12th at 9:00 am. You can listen to the recordings of previous messages here. Below is Sunday’s song list. Please listen to these songs during the week. What we sing matters. God interacts with us in our times of worship.

This is Amazing Grace by Jeremy Riddle | Josh Farro | Phil Wickham

The Lion and the Lamb by Leeland Mooring, Brenton Brown, and Brian Johnson

Thank You Jesus for the Blood by Charity Gayle

Yet Not I But Through Christ in Me by CityAlight

One Thing by Aodhan King, Dylan Thomas, and Joel Houston

Prayer Topics

Write a list of people that you know who are not yet Jesus followers. Pray over the list Monday through Friday (you can divide a large list over the 5 days so that you are praying for different names each day). On Saturday, pray asking God to show you how you can share your testimony of salvation with them.

Good to Know

April Bible Study

“It was for freedom that Christ set us free,” What is Galatians 5:1 communicating with us?  Jesus Christ saved us with freedom as an essential ingredient of His purpose. This month we turn from Colossians to Galatians. This is a small and yet powerful section of Scripture. It brings profound spiritual joy. Let’s study it together. To that end, let’s learn more about how to study a specific word in its original Biblical language – using “freedom” from Galatians as our focus for April 8 & 15. See “freedom” in Galatians 5:1  G1657 – eleutheria – Strong’s Greek Lexicon (ESV)  Here’s Justin’s “freedom” word study that we may want to work on collaboratively.
