First Prayer Focus
Every January, our church sets aside 3 weeks to dedicate ourselves to prayer and fasting to begin the new year. From January 9-30th, Pastors Ben and Rebecca invite our church family to change up our normal habits, slow down our level of activity, and spend more time resting in God’s presence. We will be providing information about in-person and virtual prayer times that will replace our normal Life Group format during that period.
Church Anniversary Service
Save the Date! On Sunday, January 30th, we will celebrate our church’s 11th anniversary together! More information about this special service will be provided later.
New Life Groups Launch
Thursday, February 6th, we will be launching our new Life Groups! Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the launch.
Life Group Tomorrow Night
Join us for Life Group Thursday night at 7pm via Zoom as we pray together and encourage one another. You should receive an email today or tomorrow with information on how to join the call.
CHC Youth Christmas Party
CHC Youth are celebrating with a Christmas Party this Saturday, December 18th, from 3-6pm, at Malinda Brady’s house. Please contact Malinda for more information.
Church Service this Sunday
This Sunday, December 19th, at 9am, we will be meeting together at the church facility for our weekly Sunday service. Please enter the church sanctuary by the red doors on either side, and not the center red doors. The center door allows cold air to blow into the room. Thank you for your consideration. Please remember to wear a properly fitted mask and remain physically distanced from people not in your household.
We will be partaking in communion as part of the service this Sunday. Individually wrapped communion elements (juice/cracker) will be available as you enter the church. Please pick one up for yourself as you walk in. You may bring your own communion elements from home if you prefer.
City Kids Christmas Party
During the City Kids class this Sunday, December 19th, our City Kids will be enjoying a fun Christmas party with games and activities. Please use this form to sign up your children (ages 4 through 4th grade) for the City Kids class on December 19th. If you have any questions about City Kids you can contact Anna Talaiver or check out our City Kids page on the church website.
Updated Christmas Cookie Exchange Info
Have a favorite holiday cookie or other treat? We’d like to give you the chance to share it with your church family! This Sunday, December 19th, you can bring 5-10 ziplock bags (or as many as you’re able), each with about 4 cookies. Please label the bags with the cookie type and your name (in case someone wants to ask for the recipe/source). We’ll have a table set up for all the cookies, and everyone can take an assortment home.
Don’t bake? Don’t worry! Store-bought cookies are fair game, or you can come empty handed and take cookies home anyway! If you have any questions, please reach out to Kristen Faroe.

Good to Know
No Church Service December 26th
As we have heard that many people will be out of town or unavailable, there will be no church service on Sunday, December 26th. Our weekly Sunday services will resume the following Sunday, on January 2nd. Life Group will meet every Thursday night in December, so please continue to participate in Thursday Life Groups.
Last Sunday’s sermon is available on the church website in case you were unable to attend in person. You can also find other past messages there as well.
Through John, Jesus speaks a word of encouragement to the church of ancient Philadelphia in Revelation chapter 3. Jesus has observed their faithful perseverance. They had obeyed the words of Jesus, despite opposition. Jesus promised reward and protection for these believers, who would live in faith despite the difficulties. The believers in Laodicea had allowed comfort (in the material world) to bring them to their own spiritual poverty. Jesus called them to a close personal relationship with Him and to a lifestyle of wholehearted devotion. May this past year help us see the wisdom of Jesus. If we will hear the Spirit of God speaking to us through these letters, we will believe in the ultimate victory of Jesus. We will grow in faith and awareness of our God.
