Sunday Church Service
We are looking forward to our in-person church service Sunday, June 12th, at 9am! This coming Sunday we will have a guest speaker, Melanie Parker from Victory Christian Church. She has been with us before on the team that helped us not long after we moved into our current worship space. This church continues to support us in a few ways. They have prayed for us, sent teams, and funds to help partner with us in Baltimore. We are so thankful for them! We also offer a livestream of the service, available on our church’s Facebook page. The livestream will appear at 9am on Sunday mornings and will be available to watch later as well.
We wanted to remind you that Honfest will be happening this weekend in Hampden. This should not affect the ability to find parking on Falls Rd, but please note that 36th will be closed from Falls Rd to Chestnut Ave this weekend.

Good to Know
New Summer Life Group Schedule
Pastors Ben and Rebecca have been so very happy to see the strength and joy in our relationships. Life Groups help us build encouraging relationships. It’s a wonderful way for us to take next steps in following Jesus together! We have heard from you about summer plans. For some of us the season of travel starts early in June. As such, we have started a modified Life Group summer schedule. Life Group will be held every week, alternating between meeting on Zoom and in-person.
Food Pantry and Church Welcome Area
Hampden UMC is the host site for a food pantry effort between several area churches. For a variety of reasons, they will no longer be taking in food from one source that required the locked doors and extra reporting. This will make it possible to open up more of a “welcome area” in that space. To supplement the previous food source they would welcome the donation of dry goods and nonperishable food such as pasta, rice, and canned foods. Such items can be brought in on a Sunday. After our service, please be careful to place the items on a table in that area in a way that’s easy for organization.
Daily Bible Reading
Every day this year, Pastor Ben is sharing a daily suggested reading of a few verses from a Psalm or Proverb. The Psalms are a collection of songs exalting God. It serves as a book of prayer and praise. The Psalms help us in our relationship with God. The Proverbs help us in our relationship with this world, in our daily life. The daily readings can be found here or received as a daily email. Click here to subscribe to receive the daily posts via email.
Pastor’s Weekly
David has been betrayed, insulted, defamed, and attacked. As he sings about the resulting depression in Psalm 69:13-28, his song turns to a focus on the unfailing love of God. We can learn from David how to look at God as our provider on our worst days and our best days. David sings to God and prays to God with complete honesty. This is the kind of personal relationship with God we should have. We would benefit from this.
