Helping Families New to Baltimore
After consideration from our elders and leaders, we have decided to partner with an organization of churches to support Afghan families who are newly arrived in Baltimore. In addition to making a financial contribution, our church would also like to help assist these families in additional ways. If you are interested in donating furniture please contact Aaron Mayhew at email@example.com or (443) 848-3417.

Good to Know
Summer Life Group Schedule
Pastors Ben and Rebecca have been so very happy to see the strength and joy in our relationships. Life Groups help us build encouraging relationships. It’s a wonderful way for us to take next steps in following Jesus together! This summer, Life Group will be held every week, alternating between meeting on Zoom and in-person.
Food Pantry and Church Welcome Area
Hampden UMC is the host site for a food pantry effort between several area churches. For a variety of reasons, they will no longer be taking in food from one source that required the locked doors and extra reporting. This will make it possible to open up more of a “welcome area” in that space. To supplement the previous food source they would welcome the donation of dry goods and nonperishable food such as pasta, rice, and canned foods. Such items can be brought in on a Sunday. After our service, please be careful to place the items on a table in that area in a way that’s easy for organization.
Daily Bible Reading
Every day this year, Pastor Ben is sharing a daily suggested reading of a few verses from a Psalm or Proverb. The Psalms are a collection of songs exalting God. It serves as a book of prayer and praise. The Psalms help us in our relationship with God. The Proverbs help us in our relationship with this world, in our daily life. The daily readings can be found here or received as a daily email. Click here to subscribe to receive the daily posts via email.
For generations, people have sung Psalm 90 a prayer from Moses. This song recognizes God as the Creator. The One True Living God is above and beyond things that we are unable to control. This God is available for a personal relationship. This God is aware of our secret sin. This God is our Creator and available Redeemer. We can now pray direct informed prayers, such as “God of Creation, I confess my sin to You and look to You as my Redeemer.” Our reasonable response is to live out of wholehearted devotion to God. We can love God with the best of our energy and enjoy each day.
