Sunday Church Service
We are looking forward to our Sunday church service this Sunday, October 16th, at 9am! This Sunday, please consider sharing an “impossible” prayer request for us to pray over in service. Also, if you have seen God do a miracle in response to this kind of prayer please consider sharing that in service. If you missed last week’s message, you can watch it here on CHC’s Facebook page or listen to the recording here.

Helping Families New to Baltimore
After consideration from our elders and leaders, we have decided to partner with an organization of churches to support Afghan families who are newly arrived in Baltimore. In addition to making a financial contribution, our church would also like to help assist these families in additional ways. If you are interested in donating furniture please contact Aaron Mayhew at info@loveaaco.org or (443) 848-3417.
Food Pantry and Church Welcome Area
Hampden UMC is the host site for a food pantry effort between several area churches. For a variety of reasons, they will no longer be taking in food from one source that required the locked doors and extra reporting. This will make it possible to open up more of a “welcome area” in that space. To supplement the previous food source they would welcome the donation of dry goods and nonperishable food such as pasta, rice, and canned foods. Such items can be brought in on a Sunday. After our service, please be careful to place the items on a table in that area in a way that’s easy for organization.
Daily Bible Reading
Every day this year, Pastor Ben is sharing a daily suggested reading of a few verses from a Psalm or Proverb. The Psalms are a collection of songs exalting God. It serves as a book of prayer and praise. The Psalms help us in our relationship with God. The Proverbs help us in our relationship with this world, in our daily life. The daily readings can be found here or received as a daily email. Click here to subscribe to receive the daily posts via email.
Pastor’s Weekly
People who find their strength in God will get back up when they are knocked down. God’s faithful love helps us bounce back from failure. We must not be distracted by what is going on with people who are choosing to do wrong. Let’s focus on God. Let your focus be simple. Love God with your “heart and soul”. Share God’s love with others. Let God’s love shape your identity, value, and purpose. Then, do what God has put in front of you.
