Sharing Life Together

Portland Bible College Classes for Everyone

We believe that learning what God has communicated is essential to our spiritual growth. You are all invited to participate in this through the vital resources made available by the Bible college of our network of churches. Please consider this as a priority for your life this year.  The “Foundations” bundle is $29 monthly, free for the first 7 days, and you can cancel at anytime. This bundle includes 200+ lessons at a value of $680. There is freedom to jump between the 7 classes included in this bundle:
  • Basic Doctrine 1 & 2
  • Old Testament Survey
  • New Testament Survey
  • Holy Spirit
  • Doctrine of the Church
  • Covenants
Would you be interested in taking one of these classes alongside others from our church? It may be best to share this journey. Please let Pastor Ben know as soon as possible if you’re interested in this cohort idea.

This Week

January Wednesdays

You are all invited to a weekly time of prayer and worship, weekly on Wednesday evenings in January, beginning tonight, January 8th. If you are able to attend, we will have time for food and fellowship from 6:00-7:00 pm. Starting at 7:00 pm, we will all pray together.

FIRST Prayer & Fasting Begins this Saturday

Would you like to start this year with hope and clarity? Setting aside extra time and energy to focus on God can help you find this meaningful reality. Changing up our daily activities, in this way, gives us a chance to find greater freedom and focus in our relationship with God. Let’s take steps in that direction together. It is a matter of responding to the call of Jesus that we, “seek first the Kingdom of God”. Before we look for anything else we should search out the living God. What lasts forever is most valuable. Each of us would benefit from more relationship moments with God. We will find mercy and truth by interacting with God the merciful Holy Spirit and the truth found in the Word of God, in Scripture.

This January 11th thru 31st, let’s share a weekly time of “first” prayer. Taking steps on this spiritual journey together makes it easier and builds momentum. For this reason we will offer suggested daily prayer topics and reading.  The spiritual practice of fasting is a decision to go without food, praying more than usual. This principle can also be applied to the normal habits of how we spend time. Less of this…allows for more of that…relationship time with God. Please join us. Give time to think and pray about what you should do.

Please consider this: “If prayer only starts from our thoughts and emotions, then it will be limited by them. We will only ever enjoy part of the relationship with God that He designed. “If God is not the starting point, then our own perceived emotional needs become the drivers and sole focus of our prayer. We cannot grow in a relationship with a person unless we learn who they are.” – Timothy Keller, Prayer. “We must know the awe of praising his glory, the intimacy of finding his grace, and the struggle of asking his help, all of which can lead us to know the spiritual reality of his presence. Prayer, then, is both awe and intimacy, struggle and reality.” – Timothy Keller, Prayer

Sunday Church Service

We are looking forward to our weekly church service this Sunday, January 12, at 9:00 am. You can listen to the recordings of previous messages here.
