Simple Summer

This summer, we’re embracing a slower, simpler rhythm together as a church. “Simple Summer” is all about creating more space for Jesus, family, friendships, rest, and meaningful connection. Over the summer months, you can expect simplified Sunday services, fewer volunteer commitments, occasional family-style Sundays, combined kids classes (CK Summer Club), and intentional opportunities for community through relaxed gatherings and park meetups. Our hope is that this season feels refreshing, encouraging, and life-giving for everyone.

Volunteer Opportunities at The Well

The Well is a community of women being transformed through long-term relationships, practical programs, and the healing power of love. Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the week—including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and group service projects—with a variety of ways to serve through mentoring, meal preparation, family support, outreach, events, childcare, and community resource programs. Additionally, The Well’s Hope Chest is looking for donations of Spring and Summer clothing items for men, women, and children. Please reach out to Rebekah Kuk for more details.

The Anchor at Hershey Park – July 16th

CHC’s youth group, The Anchor, will be going to Hershey Park on Thursday, July 16th! Please make sure you have reached out to Malinda to RSVP.

Hammerman Beach Area Hangout – July 18th

City Kids families will be meeting up at the Hammerman Beach area of Gunpowder State Park between 10:30am and 2:00pm. Entrance to the park costs $5 per person for Maryland residents (usually cash only). Please invite friends and middle school students are welcome too! Pack a lunch to eat there.

Sunday Church Service – Sunday, July 19th

We are looking forward to our Sunday church service this Sunday, July 12th at 9:00 am. You can listen to the recordings of previous messages here. What we sing matters. God interacts with us in our times of worship. You are welcome to use the sanctuary front altar area during our praise and worship time. Let’s worship God with the best of our energy. Let’s determine to seek God and an increased awareness of his presence.

Family Sunday – Sunday, July 19th

This Sunday is our second Family Sunday of the summer! Children will remain in the main service, but we will have activities for them to work on during the message. The City Kids classrooms will be open for families to use as long as children are accompanied by a parent/guardian.
