“Search me O God,” – Psalm 139:23-24

David’s relationship time with God includes this mode of prayer. – Psalm 139

It’s written out as a song for believers to pray through, meditate on, and use in their dialogue with God.

O God, you know me. You know everything about me.

Everywhere I go, you are there. In every aspect of my life, you are present.

God, your thoughts are most precious to me.

God, you are thinking about me.

God, I want to follow your guidance for my life.

God, please lead me.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart: test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you and lead me along the path of everlasting life.” – Psalm 139:23-24

We should give time for the Holy Spirit to search our hearts and examine our motives. The Scripture helps us understand God’s guidance for every area of life. This practice of a regular spiritual check up is a valuable activity for evaluating our spiritual health.

Today believers can be assured.

“There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.” – Romans 8:1

“If we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” – 1 John 1:9

Allow the Holy Spirit to identify areas of our lives that need adjustment.

Wholehearted Devotion, Thoughts, Emotions/Attitudes, Decisions, Conversation, Desires, Relationships, Forgiveness, Money, Work, Church, Health, Purity, Lifestyle,

Priorities: God’s Kingdom, God’s Mission

The Holy Spirit may identify a spiritual heart disorder, insecurity, pride, selfishness, etc.

God wants to pour His love into us, bringing repair and fresh strength, pressing out that which should not be inside us.

What should we do?

1. Pray, using Psalm 139:23-24, asking for God’s guidance.

2. Confess any wrong and ask for God’s forgiveness.

3. Make a fresh commitment of wholehearted devotion.

4. As you recognize God’s guidance, follow it.
