We are sent to all different kinds of people, with a message, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
John 20:21 Matthew 28:18-20 Luke 24:44-49 Acts 1:8
1. We are sent.
“Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” – John 20:21
2. To all different kinds of people.
“I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20
3. With a message.
“Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise from the dead on the third day. It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’ You are witnesses of all these things.” – Luke 24:46-48
4. In the power of the Holy Spirit.
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere,” – Acts 1:8
We are sent to all different kinds of people, with a message, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
How do we do this? We will talk about this more next week, looking at 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 with a new perspective, on a mission of reconciliation, representing Jesus and His kingdom, because of the cross.
