Psalm 119:153-160
In Psalm 119 we read about a relationship with God that grows through learning what God has said. The Word of God, preserved in Scripture has been taught from one generation to the next. As a person learns that God’s guidance is helpful, they grow spiritually. When they suffer opposition from people who have rejected their Creator, turning to God for help is the right thing to do. A prayer that calls God into action can include quoting Scripture and speaking the promises of God. Here the Psalmist describes a contrast between himself and people who had rejected God. We should walk away with a fresh commitment to follow the guidance of God.
