Proverbs 26:23-28; 27:1-4
Deception may start small but it will always bring damage. It is possible to be deceived by the words of someone we have not yet realized is a manipulator. People can bring great pain with their words. We should be careful with what we say.
Hebrews 5:11-14; 6:1-12
We do not grow deeper in our understanding and stronger in our spiritual life simply because years pass. We will grow stronger and more spiritually mature by choosing a lifestyle of active learning. Daily interaction with God is necessary. Learning from your interaction with God is essential. How we respond to the training made available to us by spiritual leaders makes a significant difference. Spiritual growth in this way brings about the ability to discern right from wrong. It increases a wholehearted devotion to God and a love for others. Every mature believer should be able to explain the basics of repentance (turning away from selfishness and turning to Jesus), baptisms, Heaven & Hell, the laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead.
Ezekiel 4; 5; 6
Many miracles God had performed so that the Israelites could live peacefully in Jerusalem and enjoy His presence. Over and over they rejected God’s love and guidance. Through Ezekiel, God brings dramatic object lessons in illustration of how the people would see judgment of sin that they refused to repent of. God wanted the people to know what was going to happen and why. God sought restoration. The people remained self-centered. In Ezekiel 6:9 we read that this was quite painful for God. We must learn from this. Spiritual life brings peace and strength when we start with God as our source for all things. Seeking the will of God first is a “for best results” approach to this life.

Reading the Bible is helpful in taking the next steps to follow Jesus. It may not be easy and yet it can be rewarding. Digging into Scripture alongside people you know is a life-giving way to pursue answers together. We discover the love that God has for us has been expressed through Jesus.
