2 Corinthians 8:1-15
Macedonian believers found life-changing joy from a relationship with Jesus. Out of this thanksgiving to God, they sent money to those in need. A primarily Gentile church sent money to primarily Jewish church. They chose courageous generosity for a people group who had mistreated them. Paul encourages believers to give money of their own free will, in proportion to what they had and only out of joyful motive. It’s a “love offering” of their own choosing. We can now follow their example.
