We can follow Jesus in sweet victory.  1 Peter 1

Winning – healthy, at peace, with joy (not at the expense of others) enjoying salvation, confident hope of heaven

antonyms of victorious: crestfallen, defeated, dejected, depressed, downcast

1 Peter 1 (please read the chapter)

1 Peter 1:3-5  mercy, born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead …to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled and unfading, kept in heaven for you,  who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

1 Peter 1 – Trust (faith): to believe to the extent of complete trust and reliance, to believe in, have faith in

Trust like we find in the Serenity Prayer

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardship as a pathway to peace; taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is; not as I would have it; trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to your will; so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next.”

What do we learn?

Faith in Jesus leads to salvation.

Current trials are temporary.

What should we do?

Receive Jesus as Savior with faith.

Thank You God for my salvation!

Thank you that this challenge is temporary.
